Workshop on Good Manufacturing practices for the Food Processing Industries

Food safety is an integral part of human capital development and hence the economy of any nation. The food safety and quality issue is a complex and multidimensional one extending “from the field to the table” and it has economic, social, cultural, environmental and political consequences.
 The government requirements for food safety and hygiene are increasing and consumers are increasingly demanding assurance for food safety and quality. The impact of government and consumer requirements is that all food (processed or fresh) must be safe and of high quality.
In an effort to join the campaign for food quality and safety, the Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) has organised this two-day training workshop to equip the practitioners in food processing establishments and allied industries with the necessary skills needed in this line. The course is expected to bring to light some policy-related issues which may be taken for future dialogue with the government policy makers.
